Chelsea is living in chaos: Will any coach want the challenge?

Chelsea is at rock bottom and the blame lies entirely with BlueCo! Even after their victory in the FA Cup semi-final last Sunday, the team seems to believe it can survive without a coach of the right caliber. But the harsh truth is this: in 2026, who is going to want to take the reins at Chelsea? A club adrift, with an ownership that knows nothing about football and chaotic management, is not exactly the ideal calling card for any renowned coach.

Will Ford, an expert on the subject, argues that this is the perfect scenario for someone like Andoni Iraola. Why? Because the chaos at Chelsea is so overwhelming that no one will blame a coach for failing. The club is a true “school of clowns”: tattooed millionaires who do not play in sync, a board that seems to be playing at being the owners of a club rather than managing a football giant. Does any established coach want to commit to this circus? The answer is a resounding no.

Let’s recall recent history: before the Abramovich era, Chelsea was a club adrift, with seasons of relegation and historic humiliations that no one wants to remember. It was only with the arrival of the Russian magnate that things improved — and significantly — transforming the club into a trophy-winning machine. But now? BlueCo, which has spent more than Abramovich, is destroying everything that was built. Spending a fortune and getting worse is quite a feat. What is happening?

Chelsea has never enjoyed the prestige of other giants like Liverpool or Manchester United, where history and tradition make the club shine even in difficult times. Here, the “Chelsea brand” is characterized by instability, mismanagement, and a tremendous capacity for chaos. Even the best coaches of the last decade, such as José Mourinho, left without managing to bring stability to the club. It all seemed like a quick business, a swap of stickers between coaches and players, devoid of soul.

Now, with owners who do not seem interested in football and who make unbelievable—and worse, incompetent—choices, the club is in a black hole. With 16 players loaned out around the world, from Barnet to River Plate, the strategy is a complete disaster. Any team looking to build a solid future relies on careful signings, but the current Chelsea cannot even manage that. Spending a billion and failing to achieve results is an act of incompetence that only the biggest blind egos can deny.

The worst part is that the base of loyal supporters is being alienated, while the “occasional fans” have disappeared with the decline in results. And even worse: the example of the Spurs shows that things can be even more catastrophic. If BlueCo repeats the same mistakes in the next managerial appointment, Chelsea risks becoming an unrecognizable club, doomed to accept only inexperienced coaches or easy-paycheck hunters like Liam Rosenior. Will this be the end of a football giant?

The message is clear: BlueCo, get out of Chelsea now! There is no more time for mistakes, power plays, or amateur management. If you want to save this club, you must radically change the model and prove that you know what you are doing. Otherwise, Chelsea will continue to sink into a spiral of decay, without a future and without glory. The clock is ticking, and the patience of the fans has long run out.
