A prehistoric giant invades golf course in Florida, leaving golfers in shock!
Imagine playing a peaceful round of golf in Florida when, suddenly, a real-life dinosaur crosses the course in front of you. That’s exactly what happened at a golf course in Jacksonville, located within the city’s naval air station, where a massive alligator surprised players and onlookers.
The video circulating on social media, originally shared by Rachel Hanson on TikTok, shows the colossal reptile calmly crossing a golf cart path while one of the golfers, incredulous, warns his companions with a nervous, “Um, guys… ONE, GUYS!”. The group’s reaction is pure astonishment at the imposing presence of the animal.
The scene did not go unnoticed and was widely shared. Accuweather posted the video on Instagram with the cheeky caption: “Now this is the owner of the golf course.” The authenticity of the footage was questioned by some followers, but experts confirm that male alligators in Florida can reach impressive sizes, affirming that the giant captured in the video is real.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the official state record for length belongs to a male measuring 14 feet and 3.5 inches (about 4.35 meters), captured in Lake Washington, Brevard County. The weight record is held by an alligator weighing 1,043 pounds (475 kg), measuring 13 feet and 10.5 inches (approximately 4.22 meters), captured in Orange Lake, Alachua County.
Rachel Hanson, who described the reptile as “a true dinosaur” in her TikTok caption, reposted a second video of the alligator in motion, this time with the iconic Jurassic Park music accompanying the prehistoric monster’s passage through the field.
This case raises an important alert: golfers and visitors in Florida should always be vigilant and prepared for unexpected encounters with local wildlife, which can not only be impressive but potentially dangerous.
In short, if you thought the biggest challenge on a golf course was avoiding natural obstacles or hitting the ball, think again. In Florida, the real challenge may be escaping a giant with sharp teeth casually strolling across the green!
