Florida in shock: Prosecutors demand medical records of Tiger Woods after serious accident and suspected DUI!
The legal storm surrounding legendary golfer Tiger Woods is intensifying! Following the shocking car accident in Palm Beach that left the sports world in suspense, Florida authorities have initiated a lawsuit to obtain detailed records of Woods’ medical prescriptions. This dramatic move sheds light on the athlete’s complex battle with chronic pain and potential medication abuse.
Last Tuesday, the Martin County Prosecutor’s Office filed a formal subpoena to Lewis Pharmacy, demanding all information related to the medications prescribed to Tiger Woods from the beginning of the year up to the fateful day of March 27 – the date on which the golfer was involved in an accident that resulted in his vehicle overturning after colliding with a truck.
According to the official document, prosecutors are seeking meticulous details that include: the date and time each prescription was filled, type of medication, number of pills, dosage, specific instructions for use, date for the next refill, and all warnings, especially those related to driving under the influence of the drugs.
The situation worsened when, at the scene of the accident, two hydrocodone pills were found in Woods’ clothing – a potent opioid typically prescribed for severe and chronic pain. The police report reveals that the golfer admitted to being distracted, stating that he was messing with his mobile phone and changing the radio station when he failed to brake in time, causing the collision.
The officers who assessed him at the scene reported multiple signs of possible intoxication: excessive sweating, red and glassy eyes, slow and lethargic movements, as well as persistent hiccups throughout the encounter. Woods denied having consumed alcohol but confirmed that he had taken “some” prescribed medications “earlier that morning.”
The athlete’s medical history is equally impressive and concerning: seven back surgeries and more than twenty operations on his legs. These factors were deemed decisive by the authorities in adapting the sobriety tests at the scene.
In response to the case, the golfer’s lawyers expressed their intention to fully cooperate with the investigation and evidence discovery process. Meanwhile, Woods announced a break from his career to focus on treatment, a decision that shocked fans and experts alike.
Last week, a judge authorized the multiple major champion – with 15 titles – to move to an international treatment center. The defense argued that this change is a “urgent medical necessity,” justifying that the level of care required cannot be safely or effectively ensured within the United States, especially considering the repeated violations of the athlete’s privacy.
This case is not just another road accident; it is the public exposure of the intense struggle of one of the biggest names in global sports against pain, addiction, and the pressures of fame. The wait for further developments promises to be tense and full of twists. Tiger Woods is at a crossroads, and the world is closely watching every step of this dramatic chapter in his life.
