The situation of Romelu Lukaku is generating waves of speculation and discussion among fans and football experts. The Belgian forward, who is currently recovering in Belgium instead of being in Naples, has decided to break his silence and clarify the reasons for his absence from the Italian club. Signed by Napoli until 2027, Lukaku categorically denies that his decision is related to a personal tantrum or a provocation towards the Serie A club.
“This season has been very difficult for me as I have had to deal with an injury and even a personal loss. I know that in recent days there has been a lot of speculation about my situation, so it is important to clarify everything. The truth is that in recent weeks I have not felt well physically and I underwent a scan while I was in Belgium. The scan showed the presence of inflammation and fluid in the hip flexor muscle, near the scar tissue,” Lukaku revealed, emphasizing the seriousness of his condition.
The 32-year-old forward does not hide that his health status also affects his mental well-being. “I chose to do my rehabilitation in Belgium. However, what I want most is to play and win with the Napoli shirt. But now I need to make sure that I am clinically one hundred percent. I have not been, and that reflects on a mental level,” he added, highlighting the importance of fully recovering in order to return to the pitch.
Lukaku’s situation is a reminder of the pressure players face, especially during times of injury and personal difficulties. The decision to prioritize recovery can be seen as a sensible choice, but it raises questions about loyalty and commitment to the club. In the meantime, Napoli eagerly awaits the return of their forward, who promises to fight to come back in top form and help the team secure victories.
Lukaku’s future at Napoli now depends on his ability to fully recover, and fans hope that the player will soon be able to give his all on the pitch again.
