Gary Lineker, a name synonymous with the greatness of English football, has delivered a strong message regarding the future of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The legendary forward firmly believes that a return to Old Trafford would be a grave mistake for the talented player, advising him instead to solidify his position at Barcelona, where he has found a more conducive environment to thrive.
Rashford, at just 28 years old, is one of the most prodigious talents to emerge recently from the renowned Manchester United academy. So, it’s understandable. But whenever he comes on, he plays very well.”

He highlighted the intense scrutiny Rashford faces from the British press, which often turns his off-field efforts into strange criticisms. “If he goes back to Manchester United, he will face all the old criticisms again. ‘Oh, he’s too focused on helping children have food on the table,’ as if that’s something bad. They even did that bizarre thing about why he was wearing some kind of flashy necklace.”
In contrast, Lineker emphasized the freedom Rashford enjoys in Spain, stating: “There they don’t do that kind of nonsense, so he simply focuses on his football. It’s been a fresh start, and I imagine he’s loving it without all the off-field noise he has in this country. They let you live your life. It doesn’t compare to how our press operates here.”
