“Igor Tudor is heading towards infamy in the Premier League by worsening Tottenham.”

Igor Tudor, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, appears to be on track to become one of the worst appointments in Premier League history. The club’s situation is alarming, with two possible outcomes that could condemn them to infamy: leading the Spurs to relegation or being dismissed after a series of disastrous matches. The pressure is mounting, and the signs of a crisis are evident.

It is incredible how Tottenham’s management decided to gamble everything by hiring a manager without experience in English football, especially after his stint at Juventus, where he failed to win any of his last eight matches. Although Tudor has a solid reputation in Italy as a “fixer,” there were no guarantees that this ability would translate into success on British soil. And now, with the team facing a real threat of relegation, the decision seems even more questionable.

The team’s current performance under Tudor’s leadership is alarming. Tottenham, which was already the worst team in the Premier League, appears to have worsened further. Tudor has failed to address the defensive issues that plagued Frank’s team. The Spurs continue to concede two avoidable goals in almost every match, in addition to allowing numerous unopposed shots at the edge of the area. The defenders remain disorganized and incapable of avoiding glaring mistakes.

What was once a “Spursy” machine under Frank has now become a caricature of what Tottenham could be. At least the previous team had some ability to threaten from set pieces, but under Tudor, that threat has completely vanished. The irony of transforming a team that, even in difficulties, could be dangerous into something even worse is simply unbelievable.

The match against Crystal Palace exemplified the disaster. The Spurs, who were fortunate to avoid an own goal and managed to score, found themselves losing 3-1 in just 15 minutes. The sending off of Micky van de Ven, resulting from a completely avoidable red card, was the last straw. With the imminent defeat against Liverpool, which Tudor will have to face without Van de Ven, his continuation in charge of Tottenham seems unsustainable.

Tudor hasn’t helped himself by further complicating the situation. While other coaches, like Michael Carrick at Manchester United, choose to simplify players’ roles, he has forced players to perform roles they do not understand. The choice of Conor Gallagher as a right winger is a clear example of his erratic approach.

The most concerning thought, however, is that, based on the first three games under Tudor, it is likely that this version of Tottenham would lose to Frank’s team. The situation is critical, and fans are starting to question whether the club will be able to recover before it is too late. The Tudor era at Tottenham may be coming to an end before it has truly begun.
