The second day of the ATP/WTA Indian Wells promises to be electrifying, with several high-level matches scheduled for today, March 5. The spotlight will be on talented Italian players Matteo Arnaldi, who is making his comeback after an injury, and Francesco Maestrelli, who impressed by advancing through the qualifiers to secure his place in the tournament. Let’s explore the match schedules and what to expect from each of them.

On the main court, known as Stadium 1, the action begins at 8 PM Italian time with an exciting clash between Frenchman Atmane and Bulgarian Dimitrov. However, the real anticipation surrounds the long-awaited “debut” of Venus Williams, who enters with a wild card, facing French player Parry not before 10 PM. Following that, the match between Siniakova and Kenin promises more excitement. In the night session, starting at 3 AM in Italy, Korda will take on Comesana, and to wrap things up, an interesting showdown between the United States and Argentina, with Stearns facing Sierra.

Stadium 2 also features an interesting lineup, starting at 8 PM with Linette against Krueger, followed by the match between Hurkacz and Kovacevic, which will not begin before 10 PM. The action continues with the men’s match between Merida and Michelsen, and in the early morning, starting at 3 AM, Ruzic will face Brady, while Zheng will go head-to-head with Kopriva.

In Stadium 3, the matches begin at 8 PM, with Bouzkova facing Townsend, followed by Vekic against Valentova and Gracheva against Tagger. However, the highlight of the night will be Matteo Arnaldi’s match against American qualifier Mackenzie McDonald, which is expected to start around 1:30 AM to 2 AM, depending on the duration of the previous matches.

Stadium 4 is no different, with Majchrzak facing Mpetshi Perricard at 8 PM, followed by Fearnley against Dzumhur and Maroszan against Bautista Agut. From midnight, Volynets will take on Sramkova, and Arango will face Baptiste.

Finally, in Stadium 5, the action starts with Shevchenko against Shimabukuro and continues with Tseng facing Baez and Royer against Bonzi. The match between Maestrelli and Hijikata is scheduled for no earlier than midnight and may also be affected by the duration of the previous matches.

In the doubles section, the Italian duo formed by Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini will take to the court around 10 PM, facing Cristian and Tauson.
