The young Norwegian did not hide his satisfaction with the team’s performance and is already focused on the next big challenge: the classic against FC Porto.

“Throughout the game, Gil Vicente showed that they have a good team, with quality players. It is always complicated to play here. But we are Benfica, and we have the obligation to win every game. Those three points are crucial, especially with FC Porto on the horizon. We are ready and hungry for victory,” said Schjelderup to Sport TV, displaying a contagious confidence that promises to uplift the Benfica nation.

Regarding his goal, the forward revealed: “I had a few opportunities before, but the right-back managed to defend well. I pulled it onto my left foot, and fortunately, I was able to score. It’s always good to score; it’s an incredible feeling.” This goal not only secured the three points but also solidified the player’s importance in the team’s setup.

With the classic against FC Porto approaching, Schjelderup did not hide his determination. “Every game is a final for us. We have to win. FC Porto is the next opponent, and we are more than ready for that. The hunger for victory is high,” he said, reinforcing the winning mentality that prevails within the team.

Additionally, the player made a brief mention of his home club, Bodo Glimt, expressing his pride: “It’s amazing to follow my old club. My house in Norway is just 100 meters from the stadium. It’s special to watch them play, and I’m happy for them. I have friends there and I continue to support them.”

With the victory in Barcelos and determination for the classic, Benfica not only demonstrates its current strength but also its ambition to win titles this season. The upcoming challenge against FC Porto promises to be a true test of the grit and capability of the team led by Schjelderup and company. Expectations are high, and the pressure is on, but the Reds seem ready to face the challenge ahead.
