“Arsenal regains stability, but is still far from perfection under Arteta.”

LONDON — Arsenal may not have achieved perfection in the north London derby, but the team’s boldness was spectacularly rewarded. Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, the Gunners demonstrated that they are unafraid to attack, a strategy that could very well be the ticket to winning the Premier League title.

Arteta’s decision to slightly adjust the formation to give Eberechi Eze a free role deserves praise. Alongside Bukayo Saka, Eze pulled Tottenham’s defense all over the pitch, creating an attacking dynamic that left the opponents reeling. Instead of opting for a more defensive approach by placing Odegaard in midfield, Eze’s inclusion from the start was a clear signal that Arsenal was not here just to compete, but to dominate.

The result? Arsenal could easily have established a significant lead in the first half, were it not for some glaring missed opportunities. However, the team’s bravery was finally rewarded, taking them to a five-point lead at the top of the table, although Manchester City still has a game in hand, which promises to keep the tension alive in the title race.

Eze and Saka, with their relentless movement, were fundamental, while Viktor Gyokeres and Leandro Trossard also joined the celebration, contributing to an impressive performance that made the Spurs look lost on the pitch. The way Arsenal pressed and dominated the game was a demonstration of quality, speed, and a technical superiority that became evident throughout the ninety minutes.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. After taking an early lead, Arsenal allowed Tottenham back into the game following an unfortunate error by Declan Rice, raising questions about whether the pressure of the title race was affecting the team. Although there were moments of tightness, what became clear is that a more daring approach in attack can come with its risks, especially during quick transitions.

After some conservative performances against Brentford and Wolves, where Arsenal found themselves retreating after scoring, resulting in two unwanted draws, this match should serve as a wake-up call. Arteta and his team need to understand that to secure the Premier League title this season, it is imperative to take more risks and adopt an attacking mentality.

Arsenal is demonstrating that courage and ambition are the keys to success. With growing confidence and an adaptable lineup, the Gunners appear ready to fight until the end. The battle for the title is far from decided, but the message is clear: attacking is the best form of defense, and Arsenal is embracing this philosophy with all they have.
