“Glasner’s future at Crystal Palace in serious jeopardy.”

Oliver Glasner’s situation as manager of Crystal Palace is rapidly deteriorating, with pressure mounting following a series of disastrous results. The Austrian coach has already announced his departure at the end of the season when his contract expires, but recent events raise serious questions about his continued tenure before that time. During the 1-1 draw against Zrinjski Mostar in the UEFA Europa Conference League, a significant portion of the travelling fans made their voices heard, chanting “we want Glasner out.”

Information from sources close to the club indicates that the Crystal Palace management is reassessing Glasner’s situation, especially after an alarming run of just one win in the last 15 matches. This dark phase included a humiliating exit from the FA Cup against the modest Macclesfield, leaving the Eagles just eight points above the relegation zone, with 12 matches still to play.

Glasner, who has thus far been the central figure in the club’s success story, having won the FA Cup and the Community Shield last season, did not hide his concern. “I am always being realistic, and we are not at our best right now. I understand and take responsibility for everything because I am responsible for the entire team,” he stated ahead of the crucial clash against Wolves on Sunday.

He continued, acknowledging his limitations: “At this moment, I am not good enough to replace the players we sold. I couldn’t integrate the new players in a way that we could play like we did before, and I am not good enough to handle the schedule we had.” However, Glasner did not fail to remember the achievements accomplished: “On the other hand, I was good enough to live the best season ever [and] win two trophies.”

As Crystal Palace prepares to face Wolves, who are at the bottom of the table, and their second match in the UEFA Europa Conference League knockout stage against Zrinjski Mostar next Thursday, the pressure on Glasner continues to mount. The future of the coach at Selhurst Park may be at stake, and the results in the coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether he will have the opportunity to redeem himself or if his time at the club will come to an end sooner than expected.
