“Eberechi Eze in focus: Arsenal may release star in the summer.”

Arsenal is at a decisive crossroads, and plans for the team’s future are being drawn up. Reports indicate that the Gunners are determined to retain Eberechi Eze, the talented midfielder who joined the club for £67.5 million, despite a season marked by ups and downs. However, the scenario is being clouded by uncertainties surrounding other players, particularly Riccardo Calafiori, who may be on the way out.

Eze, who brilliantly helped Crystal Palace secure the FA Cup last season, has had a mixed season at Arsenal filled with frustration and moments of brilliance. With five goals and three assists in 33 appearances, the player has delivered notable performances on several occasions, including one match in which he scored three goals. However, prior to the recent 4-0 victory over Wigan, Eze went 15 matches without contributing a goal or an assist, a fact that raises questions about his consistency.

Despite this, information from Football Insider reveals that Arsenal has no intention of considering the sale of Eze this summer. Manager Mikel Arteta seems to have big plans for the player, viewing him as a key part of the club’s long-term ambitions. The management’s confidence in Eze is clear, reflecting their vision of an Arsenal that aims to compete at the highest level, both in the Premier League and in European competitions.

On the other hand, the situation of Riccardo Calafiori is quite different. Since joining Arsenal from Bologna in 2024, the Italian international has faced a series of injuries that have kept him out of action on 41 occasions, both at club and international level. Mick Brown, former scout for Manchester United, commented on Calafiori’s situation, stating that Arsenal is evaluating whether or not to part ways with the player due to his injury-prone nature.

Brown explained: “Arsenal is assessing Calafiori. If the medical team concludes that he is more prone to injuries and that this cannot be managed with playing time, it will be a serious problem.” Arteta’s need for players who can be available regularly is pressing, especially with the club fighting on multiple fronts. The pressure to have a strong and consistent team is intense, and the presence of a player who is often unavailable like Calafiori can be a burden.

“If you have someone like Calafiori who can be fit for three games and then injured for four, that will be a concern, no matter how good he is when he’s fit,” Brown added. With other options available for the position, Arsenal’s management may be more inclined to consider parting ways with Calafiori, especially if the injury situation does not improve.

At this critical moment, Arsenal is shaping its future, with Eze as a central piece to be retained, while Calafiori’s fate remains uncertain. The fight for glory in the upcoming competitions demands a robust and healthy squad, and decision-making in this regard will be crucial for the Gunners’ aspirations.
