Why would Chelsea sell unless it was absolutely necessary?” Borson questioned. “They are going through a period of planned austerity, trying to reduce overall costs, and Palmer wouldn’t fit into that scenario. Any deal involving the player would be a British record, and his wages would be astronomical, making it very unlikely.”
Borson also mentioned that, although Palmer is a fan of Manchester United, which could open doors for a distant future, the current circumstances do not favor a transfer anytime soon. “If the player wanted to leave, that would be a different conversation, but I don’t think that’s anywhere near happening in the next few years,” he concluded.
