Milan plans to sell key players such as Rafael Leão and Tomori this summer.

Milan is preparing for a genuine overhaul of its squad this summer, surprising many by placing several key players on the transfer market. After already securing their first signing and being close to finalizing a second, the Italian club is ready to negotiate the departures of players who have until now been considered essential, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Among the names linked with an exit is Youssouf Fofana, who could leave the club for a proposal in the region of 25 million euros. Ruben Amorim, the coach, does not seem to be a big admirer of the midfielder, which is why Milan is willing to negotiate his transfer. Fikayo Tomori is another target, as his lesser ball-handling ability does not convince the coach, with a price tag of 20 million euros set for his potential departure. On the other hand, Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains available on the market due to his injury history and the high salary he commands.

In the case of Rafael Leão, the situation promises to be more complex. The coach and the forward are only expected to discuss the future after the World Cup, but Milan is already working on his sale in collaboration with Jorge Mendes. However, the asking price is around 60 to 70 million euros, which complicates the task of finding interested parties willing to meet those figures. There is the possibility of a loan with an obligation to buy or other types of solutions that could facilitate the deal for potential buyers.

The club has also assigned a valuation of 21 million euros to Santi Giménez, who recently suffered an ankle sprain while playing for the Mexican national team, an injury that could influence his immediate future. Conversely, Ardon Jashari continues to be highly regarded by the coach, despite a difficult debut season in Serie A, with Atalanta preparing a new approach for the player. Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic is being pursued by New York City FC and Liverpool, but owner Gerry Cardinale intends to retain the US international and move forward with a contract renewal, according to TuttoSport.

Milan seems to be adopting a reverse strategy to the usual one, prioritizing signings before finalizing sales, in a clear attempt to change course after a tumultuous start to the summer. However, despite some decisions appearing sensible, the club is likely to face difficulties in achieving the desired values for its key players in the transfer market.
