The transfer of Jeremiah St. Juste from Sporting to Feyenoord is officially confirmed, marking a triumphant return for the center-back to the Netherlands. The 29-year-old, who previously played for Feyenoord between 2017 and 2019, leaves Alvalade following an agreement that culminated in the termination of his contract with the Lions.

“Ready for the next chapter.” The statement from Feyenoord Rotterdam on Twitter was met with enthusiasm from fans, who are now eagerly awaiting St. Juste’s return to his former club. However, the move is not just a new stage in his career; it also signifies the end of a complicated chapter at Sporting.

St. Juste’s departure from Lisbon concludes a saga that has dragged on since the beginning of the season. The defender was relegated to the B team early in the 2025/26 season after failed transfers to Osasuna and later to Union Berlin during the summer. Despite his desire to return to Germany, where he had a notable stint with Mainz, St. Juste ultimately opted for the security of Feyenoord, where he had already made his mark in the past.

Incredibly, Sporting, which initially requested between three and four million euros for the player’s transfer, ended up allowing his departure for free, thus saving six months’ salary. St. Juste was earning a gross salary of 3.2 million euros per season, a high figure considering he did not participate in any official matches for the Lions this season.

His time at the Lisbon club was marked by a series of injuries that limited his continuity, despite the undeniable talent he always displayed. In total, St. Juste made 80 appearances for Sporting, contributing with two goals, one assist, and helping to secure three titles: two championships and a Taça de Portugal.

In his farewell, Sporting CP took to social media to thank the player: “Thank you and good luck for the future, Jer.” The message was accompanied by memories of the titles won during his stay, celebrating his contribution to the club.

Now, upon returning to Rotterdam, St. Juste has the primary mission of regaining his physical condition before returning to competition. The defender is looking to relaunch his career at Feyenoord, a club where he feels at home and hopes to shine once again. This return is not just a new opportunity, but a chance to redeem himself and show that he can still be one of the best in his position.
