“Hjulmand and Trincão close to bringing 90 million to Sporting.”

Morten Hjulmand and Francisco Trincão are set to bring Sporting an astronomical sum of 90 million euros, a financial windfall that exceeds by 10 million the already substantial investment made by the lions in this transfer market. The imminent departures of the Danish midfielder and the Portuguese international forward promise to shake up the transfer window at Alvalade and ensure that the Sporting administration has room to continue strengthening Rui Borges' squad for the 2026/2027 season.

Atletico Madrid attempted to secure Hjulmand with a bid of 35 million euros, but saw the offer rejected by Sporting, which will only negotiate starting from 40 million euros fixed, plus bonuses. The colchoneros have yet to present a second offer, but are expected to do so this week, with the future of the Sporting captain depending on the progress of the negotiations. If an agreement is reached quickly, Hjulmand's presence at the pre-season training camp in Lagos will be in doubt.

Regarding Trincão, Al Ahli's interest is strong, having already put a figure of 45 million euros on the table, although there is still no formal proposal. Sporting remains firm in its demand for 50 million, refusing to settle for less. Conversations are ongoing, but it is not expected that the official proposal, with adjusted figures, will arrive at Alvalade this week. Despite this, the forward's departure to Saudi Arabia seems to be well on track.

These two operations, considered practically certain in the corridors of Alvalade, will allow Sporting to balance its accounts after a record investment of nearly 80 million euros in strengthening the squad. The signing of Rodrigo Zalazar from SC Braga for 30 million euros opened hostilities, followed by Pedro Lima (4 million, from Aves SAD), Doumbia (20 million, from Venezia), Silas Andersen (7.25 million, from Hacken), and Sergi Altimira (18 million, from Betis). In total, a financial effort of 79.25 million euros, almost entirely covered by the likely sales of Hjulmand and Trincão.

Among the players who could leave Alvalade is also Pedro Gonçalves. However, unlike his teammates, there are currently no concrete offers for the number 8 of the lions. Like Trincão, Arabia appears as a possible destination, but other markets are also keeping an eye on the situation of the attacking midfielder.

With the dossiers of Hjulmand and Trincão close to being finalized, Sporting is preparing to make one of the largest profits in its recent history, consolidating the strategy of investing heavily to then sell at a high price. The outcome of these negotiations may also bring more news regarding the management of the lion's squad for the upcoming seasons.
