Alexandra Eala dominated the voting for the WTA's best grass court player of the season, achieving a landslide victory with 90% of the votes, well ahead of Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova. The decision was made through a social media poll, where the young Filipino's popularity was decisive in this surprising outcome.

The voting took place after an impressive season for Eala on the grass circuit, which began with her victory at the Birmingham Open and continued with a remarkable performance at the Ladies Open in Berlin, where she defeated top players such as Elena Rybakina and Elina Svitolina. Although she did not claim the title at the All England Lawn & Tennis Club, Alexandra secured three wins at Wimbledon, including a stunning victory over then-champion Iga Swiatek, one of the tournament's standout moments.

The impact of this recognition goes beyond mere popular voting. The young Filipino tennis player is now back in the top 30 of the WTA rankings, which should secure her a seeding spot at the US Open next month. This status provides a significant competitive and commercial advantage, allowing the tournament to feature Eala on main courts, capitalizing on her growing global prestige.

Regarding her recent defeat to Paolini, Alexandra commented: “There are so many positive points. One of them is how I dealt with the pressure. There is pressure every week, right? The more you want to win, the more pressure comes. I’m happy with how I faced it head-on. I think I kept my composure when I needed to control my emotions. Overall, I did the best I could that day.” The tennis player added that the past week will be crucial for boosting her confidence and that the mindset of entering each match believing in victory is essential in tennis: “Every match is different, you’re always finding solutions, while the opponent is looking for ways to distract you.”

The voting also revealed Karolina Muchova in third place, but Eala's wide margin demonstrates that her popularity, especially in the Philippines, is immense and she is gaining fans globally. This success could mark the beginning of an even brighter career on grass, a surface where she has shown great aptitude and potential for future achievements.
