At the Belgian club, Tzolis became one of the standout players, accumulating 108 appearances, 43 goals, and 45 assists over two seasons. In addition to his offensive versatility, Tzolis is noted for being an excellent set-piece taker, having created 52 goal-scoring opportunities from set pieces last season with Club Brugge. For comparison, two of Arsenal's best, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, combined to generate 39 chances in the Premier League from those situations.
The Greek international, who can also play as a striker or attacking midfielder, has signed a five-year contract with the London club. His arrival is expected to enhance the team's offensive dynamics, particularly on the left flank, where Gabriel Martinelli's inconsistency has been a concern for the coaching staff.
The pronunciation of his name may cause some confusion: “Christos” should sound like “KREES-tos” and the surname “Tzolis” is pronounced “ZOH-lis,” with the T being silent. The investment in the young winger reflects the Gunners' ambition to maintain competitiveness following last season's Premier League title and Champions League final appearance.
