Lacey's future at Manchester United looks promising. In the first match of the new season, he had an opportunity in the second half, although the team suffered a defeat against Hull City. Despite the result, his performance did not harm his chances of continuing to receive minutes on the pitch. With players like Amad Diallo and Mason Mount injured, Lacey could be the first choice to replace Bryan Mbeumo on the right flank or to fill the attacking midfield position usually occupied by Bruno Fernandes.
