Arsenal have officially sealed the permanent transfer of Fabio Vieira to Hamburger SV, ending the Portuguese midfielder’s stint at the Emirates. The 26-year-old, who spent the entire 2025/26 season on loan at the German side, will now continue his career in Hamburg for a reported fee of £7.7 million, according to Sky Sports.
The Gunners confirmed the move through an official club statement, expressing gratitude for Vieira’s service and extending their best wishes to him and his family. “Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Fabio for his contribution to the club and wish him and his family every success for the future,” the statement read. The transfer remains subject to the completion of regulatory formalities.
Vieira’s departure marks a significant shift for Arsenal’s midfield options, as the club finalizes a deal that transitions the player from a temporary loan arrangement to a full transfer. The reported £7.7 million fee underscores Hamburg’s confidence in Vieira’s abilities after his season-long spell in the Bundesliga.
This move concludes Arsenal’s involvement with the midfielder, who had been part of their squad but found more consistent playing time during his loan in Germany. The permanent transfer to Hamburger SV signals a new chapter for Vieira as he aims to establish himself firmly in the German league.
