Yan Diomande has returned to RB Leipzig’s pre-season camp in Austria, yet the Ivory Coast prodigy remains on the cusp of a blockbuster transfer to Real Madrid. Despite fully rejoining Leipzig’s training after recovering from an infection that sidelined him during the team’s initial travel and friendly against SC Verl, Diomande’s move to the Spanish giants is far from finalized.
Negotiations between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig are intensifying, with reports confirming discussions are highly advanced. The deal is expected to surpass €120 million, combining a substantial fixed fee with performance-based bonuses. Such a figure would place Diomande among the most expensive signings in Real Madrid’s history. Sources reveal a breakthrough was reportedly reached recently, fueling speculation that an announcement could be imminent.
However, RB Leipzig management has yet to grant Diomande permission to leave their camp for the mandatory medical examinations required by Real Madrid. This delay underscores that the transfer saga remains unresolved as both clubs meticulously fine-tune the remaining contractual details.
The 19-year-old forward is reportedly eager to finalize the move to the Santiago Bernabeu, having already verbally agreed to personal terms extending to June 2030. Notably, Diomande has declined proposals from PSG, who attempted a swap deal involving Ibrahima Mbaye. Although he has returned to Leipzig’s squad to fulfill his current commitments, the young talent is focused on maintaining his fitness and avoiding any injury risks ahead of securing the green light for his transfer.
Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho is reportedly keen to integrate Diomande swiftly into his attacking lineup, highlighting the club’s high expectations for the winger. All parties anticipate resolving the outstanding issues within days, paving the way for Diomande’s medical, official signing, and presentation in Spain.
As the countdown continues, the football world watches closely as one of the season’s most significant transfers inches toward completion.
