Argentina's Leandro Paredes has been hit with a staggering ten-match ban following his involvement in the post-World Cup final brawl, with teammate Nahuel Molina also facing a significant suspension of seven games. The disciplinary measures, announced by FIFA, come as a direct consequence of the violent altercation that erupted after the climactic showdown.
Paredes, a key figure in Argentina's squad, received the harshest punishment, sidelining him for a substantial period and raising questions about the impact on his club and international future. Molina’s seven-match suspension further underscores FIFA’s zero-tolerance stance on misconduct during such high-profile events.
These sanctions highlight the severe repercussions players face when involved in violent conduct, especially on the world stage where discipline and sportsmanship are paramount. The bans will affect their availability for upcoming international fixtures, potentially disrupting Argentina’s lineup in crucial matches ahead.
