Real Madrid has reportedly placed a staggering €160 million price tag on Vinicius Junior as Arsenal eyes a potential blockbuster transfer. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the English Premier League giants are monitoring the 26-year-old forward’s situation closely, although formal negotiations with either Vinicius or Real Madrid have yet to commence as of July 25.
Arsenal is said to be waiting for a clear indication from Vinicius himself before initiating any official approach. The Brazilian star’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu has been under intense scrutiny amid contract uncertainty, with just one year remaining on his current deal. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez appears determined to either secure a lucrative renewal or cash in on the forward, as talks have stalled over salary demands.
Sources from Spanish outlet SPORT reveal that Vinicius is pushing for a wage package on par with Kylian Mbappe’s, heightening tensions between player and club. While Real Madrid would prefer to retain their prized asset, the lack of progress in negotiations has forced the club to explore transfer market options.
With the World Cup now concluded, both parties are expected to resume discussions soon. However, the atmosphere remains charged, and Arsenal’s interest adds a new layer of complexity to the saga. Vinicius Junior’s future at the heart of Real Madrid’s attack hangs in the balance, with a record-breaking transfer fee potentially reshaping the summer transfer window landscape.
