Bayern Munich have made a decisive move in their defensive line-up, securing Konrad Laimer’s future with a new contract that will keep the influential right-back at the Allianz Arena until 2029. The German powerhouse confirmed the deal today, underlining Laimer’s vital presence in Vincent Kompany’s squad after a standout campaign.
Laimer, 29, was indispensable for Bayern last season, featuring in 51 matches and demonstrating his attacking prowess from the back with three goals and an impressive 12 assists. His consistent performances and ability to impact both ends of the pitch have solidified his reputation as one of the Bundesliga’s most dynamic defenders.
The Austrian international’s renewal is a clear signal of Bayern’s intent to build a formidable team under Kompany’s leadership. The club’s statement officially confirmed the three-year extension, locking down a player who has quickly become a cornerstone of their tactical set-up.
In response to the new deal, Laimer expressed his delight at committing his future to Bayern Munich. “I’ve often emphasised how happy I am in Munich and that it’s great fun to play football in this team. I’ve felt that here from day one,” he said, reinforcing his strong bond with the club and his teammates. “Anything is possible with this team, and I can’t wait for the season to start again,” Laimer added, highlighting the optimism and ambition within the squad as preparations ramp up for the new campaign.
Bayern Munich’s swift action to tie down Laimer sends a strong message to their domestic and European rivals: the Bavarian giants are determined to maintain their competitive edge, with Laimer’s versatility and experience providing a foundation for future success.
