Arsenal slash Gabriel Jesus price to £20m as AC Milan push for deal

Arsenal have put Gabriel Jesus on the transfer market at a dramatically reduced price, with AC Milan emerging as a leading contender for the Brazilian striker’s signature. The Gunners, fresh from their triumph as Premier League champions, are reportedly ready to entertain offers in the region of £20 million—less than half of the £45 million they paid Manchester City for Jesus in 2022.

After four injury-hit seasons in North London yielding just 32 goals, Jesus has struggled to cement his place in Mikel Arteta’s plans. The 27-year-old managed only 14 Premier League appearances last season, as Arteta consistently favoured Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres at the spearhead of Arsenal’s attack. With Jesús now entering the final year of his contract, Arsenal’s hierarchy is eager to avoid losing him on a free transfer and are looking to seal a deal in the coming weeks.

AC Milan have identified Jesus as a primary target, with new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly a strong admirer of the Brazilian international. The Rossoneri, however, face a significant obstacle: Jesus himself remains unconvinced about the move, partly due to Milan’s absence from next season’s UEFA Champions League. Last summer, Jesus rejected a transfer away from Arsenal, determined to fight for his place within Arteta’s squad, and there are suggestions his stance may not have shifted.

Arsenal have made their intentions clear to Jesus, stating that his role in the squad will remain unchanged should he decide to stay through the summer. The club’s message underscores the urgency of the situation, with the risk of the striker leaving for nothing in 2027 looming large.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are closely monitoring developments and could reignite their pursuit of Jesus, sensing an opportunity for a cut-price deal. As the transfer saga intensifies, Jesus’s future appears increasingly uncertain, with Arsenal’s willingness to slash their asking price setting the stage for a potential high-profile exit in the coming weeks.
