Antonio Nusa remains a priority for Roma despite slow negotiations.

Antonio Nusa continues to be a genuine option for Roma, but the progress of the deal has been slow, primarily due to the values involved. According to Corriere dello Sport, RB Leipzig values the Norwegian winger at €55 million, an amount higher than the €50 million that would have secured the acquisition of Crysencio Summerville, prior to his transfer to Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that he only scored four goals in the Bundesliga last season. Interestingly, Lorenzo Pellegrini, now a free agent, recorded the same number of goals in Serie A.

The financial situation and the figures at play highlight Roma's difficulties in closing deals. The club needs three attacking reinforcements: two wingers and a backup for Donyell Malen. Three targets have already slipped away, including Tzolis, who moved to Arsenal, but there are still three viable options remaining. Nusa is the plan A, a player who complements Erling Haaland perfectly in the Norwegian national team, while El Mala from Cologne is considered the plan B for the attack. Leipzig's interest in El Mala could be the key that unlocks Nusa's transfer, creating an intriguing dynamic.

Gian Piero Gasperini, the coach of Roma, is also interested in Kerem Aktürkoğlu from Fenerbahçe and Andreas Schjelderup from Benfica. Additionally, on Friday, the idea emerged of Marcus Rashford being offered as part of ongoing discussions with Manchester United regarding Manu Koné. The strategy for the trequartista is to combine an established name with a promising young player at a more affordable cost, with 18-year-old Mbaye from PSG and Sauer from Feyenoord being closely monitored by sporting director D’Amico.

With the urgent need to strengthen the squad, Roma faces a significant challenge in fulfilling its ambitions in the transfer market. The focus on Nusa and the potential movements surrounding El Mala and Rashford reveal the team's intention to bolster the attack and ensure a competitive season. The outcome of these negotiations will be crucial for building the squad and could define Roma's path in the upcoming competitions.
