Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United captain, wants to win back the fans’ support ahead of the match against Chelsea this weekend. After a turbulent week, marked by criticism of manager Michael Carrick’s tactics, the midfielder was left out of the team for the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

The decision provoked a wave of discontent among fans and the club’s board.

According to reports, Carrick and Bruno Fernandes held talks to clear the air before the trip to Stamford Bridge. The manager, whose position is precarious, said the decision to leave Fernandes out was based on footballing reasons.

Now, everything suggests the Portugal international will return to the starting line-up. However, public opinion remains divided over his performances, and many fans are still calling for him to leave.

## Charm offensive at Carrington

In an attempt to ease tensions, Fernandes made a point of engaging more with fans during a visit to the Carrington training complex. The captain normally ignores requests for autographs, but this time he stopped to sign and chat with supporters.

The press described the gesture as a “charm offensive” to repair his relationship with the fans, although its effectiveness is questionable, given that many still want to see him leave the club.
