## Article

Enzo Maresca was left frustrated after Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Brighton, their second consecutive loss in the Premier League. The only goal of the match was scored by Yasin Ayari, following a mistake by Matheus Nunes.

Even so, the City manager believes his side created enough chances to have taken something from the game.

## Lack of efficiency in front of goal

“It’s a very similar feeling to the one we had after the Aston Villa game,” said Maresca. “We created enough chances to get some points, but we didn’t score. At the moment, that’s how it is. I think today we did enough to deserve something, but we have to move on and try to win games.”

The team’s finishing has been one of the critical issues. The manager stressed that, despite the chances created, they have not been efficient enough when it comes to finishing.

## Individual errors penalise the team

Maresca also highlighted the individual errors that have been costing the team. “Sometimes it happens and, unfortunately, it’s happening with our players,” he said. “But it’s part of the game that it happens. Probably, in the last two or three games, it has happened a lot against us. We simply need to analyse it and understand what we can do better and try to move on.”

The manager acknowledges that the team are suffering from “silly” goals that could have been avoided and hopes the mistakes will be put right in the next match.

Frustration is growing in the squad, but Maresca insists on the need for a quick response. “We’re definitely not happy,” he said. “The players, me, the coaching staff, the club. Nobody is happy when you lose games, but we were aware we weren’t going to win every game, so these moments come. We just have to try to improve things, move on and try to win games as quickly as possible.”

With City going through a difficult spell, the pressure is increasing for the team to return to winning ways. The next match will be important for their recovery and for restoring confidence in the squad.
