Kylian Mbappé is about to write another chapter in his impressive career as he prepares to face Racing, where he will have the chance to score against a 24th different team in La Liga. The France forward shone in the Clásico, scoring twice to secure Real Madrid’s victory over Barcelona and taking his career total against the Catalans to 14 goals.

With that, Mbappé passed the 100-goal mark for Real Madrid, a milestone reached at the start of his third season at the club. So far this season he already has 14 goals, 11 of them in La Liga, keeping him firmly in the race for the league’s top scorer award and the European Golden Shoe.

According to the Spanish newspaper “As”, Mbappé has 67 goals in 75 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid, having found the net against all 23 teams he has faced in the competition. His perfect record includes not only the goal against Málaga but also the one against Elche, the only side he had not managed to score against before that meeting.

The challenges continue with Racing, who will be the 24th team the Frenchman faces in La Liga, followed by Deportivo before Christmas. To keep his run going, Mbappé will need to score in both games. Real Sociedad are Mbappé’s favourite opponents, with seven goals in four matches, while the Clásicos against Barcelona have also seen him shine, with six goals in four games.

Since returning from the last international break, Mbappé has been in great form, with six goals and an assist in Real Madrid’s last five games. His impact has been vital; without his goals, the club would have dropped crucial points in both La Liga and the Champions League.

José Mourinho, the Real Madrid head coach, has placed enormous trust in the young striker, making him the player with the most minutes under his guidance, 1,161 so far. Mbappé has been an essential pillar of the team, starting every game and being substituted only three times, for a total of nine minutes off the pitch.

This Sunday, anticipation is high to see whether Mbappé can maintain his impressive run and keep challenging opposing defences, aiming not only for victory for his team but also for a prominent place in La Liga history.
