## Article

RB Leipzig beat Augsburg 5-2 and moved up to third in the Bundesliga, their third consecutive league win.

The victory maintains the team’s perfect start at home, with a new record: they have not conceded a single goal in their first four home games this season.

## Early Augsburg goal

The match got off to a surprising start, with Leipzig conceding after just 37 seconds. Willi Orban, who was celebrating his 400th appearance for the club, made a mistake by giving the ball away to Arijon Ibrahimovic.

The shot was saved by goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt, but Anton Kade pounced on the rebound to give the visitors the lead. Augsburg, who had not won since September, came close to doubling their advantage, but Rodrigo Ribeiro failed to score from a promising position.

## Leipzig’s turnaround

After that, Leipzig responded. Captain David Raum tried to equalise with a powerful shot, which Finn Dahmen saved.

The hosts levelled in the 31st minute with a superb finish from Ezechiel Banzuzi, who shot with his left foot into the bottom corner of the goal after an assist from Brajan Gruda.

Shortly afterwards, Leipzig made it 2-1, with Gruda crossing for Christopher Nkunku, who volleyed into the back of the net. It was Nkunku’s first goal since his hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt in October.

## Second half and tenth home win

In the second half, Kade had another chance to score, but was again denied by Vandevoordt. The miss proved decisive, as Leipzig went further ahead in the 60th minute.

Romulo, who had already scored three goals in as many matches, finished off a team move by converting a cut-back from Nkunku from two metres out.

Martin Demichelis’s side, strengthened by players who came on as substitutes, continued to show grit and secured their tenth consecutive home league win. With this result, Leipzig consolidated their position in the table.
