## Article

RB Leipzig beat Schalke 04 2-0 in the Bundesliga, ending a run of five consecutive away defeats. Schalke are still looking for their first goal at the Veltins-Arena since returning to the top flight of German football.

Timo Becker appeared to have opened the scoring, but the goal was ruled out for offside, which checked the home side’s early momentum.

## Nusa penalty decides the first half

The first half was marked by several attempts from both sides. Junior Adamu failed to finish off a pass from Kenan Karaman, while Leipzig threatened through Antonio Nusa, whose shot was turned away by an inspired Loris Karius.

The decisive moment came in the 37th minute, when Satoshi Tanaka, trying to win the ball back in his own box, fouled Romulo Cardoso. Referee Max Burda pointed to the penalty spot and Nusa converted accurately into the bottom left corner, putting Leipzig ahead at the break.

## Romulo seals the win on the counter-attack

In the second half, Leipzig kept control of the game, with Ezechiel Banzuzi creating a few chances, including one that Karius brilliantly saved in a one-on-one.

Schalke could not maintain their defensive solidity and, on the counter-attack, Tidiam Gomis set up Nusa, who crossed for Romulo. He sealed the win with a goal, his first away from home since April.

Schalke, who have scored only four goals this season, three of them in a single match, were left without options to hit back. Leipzig won their first away points since April.

Miron Muslic’s side now face the challenge of improving their league position, with the next big fixture, Der Klassiker, just around the corner. The pressure is growing on the players and the coach, who need to find quick solutions.
