Reiss Nelson, Arsenal winger, is attracting interest from several European clubs for the upcoming season. At 26 years old, the player does not seem to be part of Mikel Arteta's plans, having spent the last two seasons on loan at Fulham and Brentford, respectively.
During those loan spells, Nelson participated in only 26 matches, scoring three goals and providing three assists. According to BBC Sport, clubs such as Valencia and Benfica have already expressed interest in securing his signing. Arsenal intends to sell the player permanently in this transfer window, as his contract expires next summer.
Nelson is said to have rejected offers from other Premier League teams, showing a willingness to move abroad. Fulham, which is among the English clubs interested, is prepared to compete for his signing with Benfica, where former Fulham manager Marco Silva is currently in charge.
Nelson's departure could mark the end of his connection with Arsenal, where he has never managed to establish himself consistently in the first team. Foreign interest may represent an opportunity for the player to relaunch his career away from the Premier League, in a different competitive environment. The final decision is expected to be known in the coming weeks during the transfer window.
