After a long and challenging recovery period, Justin Thomas is set to make his much-anticipated return to the PGA Tour, and the excitement is palpable. Following a successful microdiscectomy, the acclaimed golfer has been working hard to get back into competitive shape. Recently, he shared an exciting video on social media, showcasing his progress and preparation for the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational, a $20 million event.

“It’s been great to get back to practicing and I’m excited for next week @apinv!” were Thomas’s words in his latest Instagram post. He explained how he uses objects to refine his swing, highlighting the importance of small adjustments in his putting technique. “Here are two videos of putts made just minutes apart, but they illustrate how small changes can make a difference,” he added.

In the video, Thomas is seen striking the ball well on the short grass, revealing a renewed confidence. His enthusiasm is even more evident as he marks the date for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, signaling his eagerness to compete in this renowned event. PGA Tour Communications has already confirmed his participation in the tournament, scheduled for February 28, 2026. However, experts like Ryan Lavner warn that Thomas’s return comes at a challenging time in the PGA Tour calendar. Regardless, the way he is handling his putting suggests that he is more than ready to make a strong comeback.

In recent days, Thomas has also shown that he is seriously preparing, having been seen practicing with his clubs since mid-January. This early activity is a clear sign that he is determined to return to the game in style.

Moreover, to gain competitiveness ahead of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Thomas recently participated in an event at the SoFi Center, joining the Atlanta Drive GC team. Together with Patrick Cantlay and Christ Gotterup, he helped his team defeat the Boston Common Golf team, captained by Rory McIlroy, by a score of 5-2, thus securing a spot in the TGL playoffs for the 2026 season.

Thomas’s performance was remarkable, especially considering he was returning from hip surgery. With drives that easily exceeded 300 yards and accuracy that allowed him to frequently find the fairway, he proved capable of significantly contributing to his team’s victory. Although it was not a spectacular display, what he achieved was enough to give him the confidence needed to compete at Bay Hill and, of course, in the $20 million event.

With adrenaline on the rise, golf fans can hardly wait to see Justin Thomas back at his best, facing the top players on the circuit with the tenacity that has always characterized him.
