Mikel Arteta explodes against accusations: Arsenal accused of faking injuries to avoid international commitments!

In a scenario that is igniting the Premier League and social media, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has come to the club’s defense following a wave of criticism and suspicion regarding the withdrawal of 11 players from international commitments in March. The controversy escalated when it was revealed that nearly half of the 23 players released from national teams belong to the Gunners, leading to accusations that Arsenal is faking injuries to keep its stars away from international matches, particularly against Sporting and other teams.

Arteta did not hold back: “We have a very good relationship and communication with most of the national teams, certainly also with Thomas [Tuchel], the England manager. We have always been extremely supportive. When it comes to communicating the status of each player, we are always honest, and a medical decision had to be made. The conclusion was clear,” assured the Spanish coach, making it clear that the health of the athletes comes first.

The origin of this crisis arose soon after the League Cup final, lost to Manchester City, when William Saliba (France) was the first to be sidelined due to an ankle injury. The blacklist grew quickly: Gabriel Magalhães (Brazil) left with knee issues, followed by Eberechi Eze (England), Martin Odegaard (Norway), Jurrien Timber (Netherlands), and Leandro Trossard (Belgium). The confusion escalated when, after the call-ups, five more players were released — including prominent names like Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Noni Madueke, along with Martin Zubimendi and Piero Hincapie.

Arteta spared no praise for his players’ commitment to their national teams: “The players are desperate to play for their nation. I know how important it is for them. When you are fit and available to play for the national team, you have to play. It makes us very proud to have so many players in the national teams.” A statement intended to dismantle any conspiracy theories and reinforce Arsenal’s integrity.

In the immediate horizon, Arsenal is preparing for the FA Cup quarter-finals against Southampton, and Arteta confirmed that Eze remains injured and out of action, but left the door open for the return of Odegaard and Timber. Regarding Madueke, the coach was cautious: “The injury is not as serious as initially feared, but he is doubtful for the match.”

When asked about the actual availability of the 11 released players, Arteta did not want to reveal everything: “Summer later. I leave you to speculate. You can judge later.” A response that maintains the mystery and fuels the curiosity of fans and the media.

But one thing is certain: Arsenal is not willing to make it easy. “We are in a position where we need to present the strongest possible eleven to win all competitions. We know the importance the FA Cup has for us,” concluded the coach, emphasizing the ambition of the London club on all fronts.

This controversy promises to make headlines in the coming weeks, as the Premier League continues its frantic race and Arsenal fights to stay at the top, free from suspicions and prioritizing the health of its players. Fans hope this storm passes quickly and that the team returns to showing its true strength on the pitch.
