On Tuesday morning, FC Porto left no room for doubt, defeating Vizela 2-1 in a friendly match held at Olival. The Dragons demonstrated good form, with Tiago Silva opening the scoring just 10 minutes in, and Gabri Veiga doubling the lead to 2-0 by the 20th minute. Despite the defeat, Vizela managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Thio in the 54th minute, but it was not enough to change the course of the match.

Coach Francesco Farioli employed an effective rotation, fielding two goalkeepers: Cláudio Ramos and João Costa. In defense, he lined up a strong backline consisting of Alberto Costa, Martim Fernandes, Thiago Silva, Felipe Silva, Luís Gomes, and Francisco Moura. The midfield featured Alan Varela, Domingos Andrade, Tiago Silva, Rayan Demirci, Gabri Veiga, and João Teixeira, while the attack was led by Pepê, William Gomes, Borja Sainz, Gonçalo Santos, Terem Moffi, Leonardo Vonic, and Anhá Candé.

On the Vizela side, the starting eleven included Gomis, Ítalo, Rhyner, Gonçalo Barros (representing the under-23 team), Godwin, Moha, Bastunov, Demchenko, Rodrigo Ramos, Matías, and Kitala. The substitutes’ bench comprised players such as Pedro Souza, Loppy, Diogo Martins (under-23), Thio, Cvijanovic, Hristov, Afonso Machado (under-23), Manu Garrido, José Gonzalez (under-23), Tomás Pereira (under-23), and Sanogo (under-23).

The training session of the Porto team maintained its joint dynamics between teams A and B, a practice that has proven beneficial in recent days. However, not all players were available to participate fully. Diogo Costa, Nehuén Pérez, Rodrigo Mora, Luuk de Jong, Samu, Martim Chelmik, Martim Cunha, Yoan Pereira, André Oliveira, André Miranda, and Brayan Caicedo are undergoing various types of treatments or conditional training, which limits Farioli’s options.

Fans of FC Porto can be optimistic about the team’s performance, as the next training session is scheduled for Thursday. The continuation of these training sessions could be crucial for preparing for the upcoming competitions, as the Dragons seek to reaffirm their strength in the landscape of Portuguese football.
