Daniel Bragança proves decisive once again and secures a hard-fought victory for Sporting against Estrela da Amadora. In a tense match marked by evident difficulties, the Sporting midfielder scored the only goal of the match, securing the three points in the 29th round of the Primeira Liga. However, the truth is that the game was far from a spectacle, and the goal scorer himself acknowledges that the team’s performance left much to be desired.

“No, when it’s not me, there are others who decide, it’s just games. We have many who have already decided plenty of games, the important thing was the three points in a very complicated game,” said Daniel Bragança, dismissing the idea of being the team’s saviour but emphasising the value of the victory in a tough duel.

The player’s dismay was evident in his analysis: “It wasn’t very well achieved from our side from start to finish. I know it’s difficult to play every three days, but we are at a big club, and that’s the demand they ask of us, and that’s the level we have to be at, having to win every three days. Sometimes it happens, and today was a less successful game.” The pressure of the tight schedule weighs heavily, but at Sporting, there is no room for excuses: “It’s important to highlight the effort, and it’s important to win when you don’t play well, and that’s what stands out today.”

Bragança also spoke about the need to maintain attitude even when inspiration is lacking, echoing the coach’s words: “The team felt the wind a bit in the first half, but that’s no excuse. Tough game, Estrela fought well, difficult conditions, but the three points remain, and they are the most important.”

Sporting thus maintains its fight for the lead, although the performance shown against Estrela da Amadora raises concerns about the ability to maintain the required level in such an intense schedule. The victory is invaluable, but internal criticism of their own performance is a clear sign that the course needs to be adjusted quickly to avoid stumbles in the final stretch of the championship. Daniel Bragança, with his frankness and attitude, emerges as an honest voice within the dressing room, aware of the challenges that still lie ahead.
