Jannik Sinner is making history in the world of tennis, and after an impressive performance at the Miami Open, he has reached a remarkable milestone in his career. With the victory that allowed him to complete the Sunshine Double, Sinner not only won the tournament but also surpassed 12,400 points in the ATP rankings, an unprecedented achievement for the Italian tennis player. He is now less than 1,200 points behind the current world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, and the clay season promises to be an exciting duel between the two young prodigies.

Sinner had previously reached the 12,000-point mark back in July 2025, but now he is closer than ever to catching up with Alcaraz. The Spaniard, who will have the responsibility of defending his position during the clay season, sees Sinner as a real threat. Meanwhile, Sinner will be able to take advantage of his privileged position, free from pressure, until the Internazionali d’Italia, where he hopes to further increase his points tally.

Other significant movements occurred in the ATP top 10 ranking. Alexander Zverev, who reclaimed the third position, is now more than 7,000 points behind the second place. Felix Auger-Aliassime, in turn, moved up one spot, surpassing Taylor Fritz, while Flavio Cobolli achieved a new record by reaching 13th place, closely followed by the talented Jiri Lehecka, who was a finalist in Miami. Luciano Darderi, although he lost one position, remains among the top 20, while Jakub Mensik fell out of the top 25 for the first time. Frenchman Terence Atmane, on the other hand, made his debut in the top 50.
