Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian forward who shines at Galatasaray, underwent successful surgery following a significant arm injury. The confirmation came directly from the Turkish club, which announced that the player suffered a fracture in his right forearm during an intense Champions League clash against Liverpool at Anfield. The pain was so severe that, despite attempting to continue on the field, Osimhen had to be substituted at halftime due to significant swelling identified by the medical team.

Galatasaray announced with relief that the operation performed on Monday at Acıbadem Hospital in Maslak, under the supervision of the club’s doctor, Op. Dr. Yener Ince, went smoothly. “Our player Victor Osimhen, who was injured and could not continue playing in our away match against Liverpool in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League, underwent successful surgery today. We send our best wishes to our player and hope he returns to the field as soon as possible,” the club stated in a press release.

Osimhen’s recovery will be closely monitored, with doctor Ince assuring that the medical team will do everything necessary to ensure his swift return. “Updates will be shared with the public throughout the process,” the doctor stated. Osimhen himself, during a livestream session on Twitch with influencer Carter Efe, expressed optimism about his recovery. “It should take a maximum of five to six weeks. Six weeks at most, and I’ll be back to football,” he revealed.

The forward, who has faced much more severe challenges in his career, including a previous operation that left 18 screws in his face, compared this new injury to a “minor thing.” “Most of the time, it’s four weeks, then two weeks to train alone, gradually regain fitness, and then join the team,” he explained, demonstrating his resilience and determination.

With 19 goals in 29 competitive matches this season, Osimhen has been one of the team’s cornerstones, and his absence will be felt, especially in the crucial league clash against Fenerbahçe on April 26. The expectation is that, after his recovery, he will return to the pitch and continue to play a key role in Galatasaray’s pursuit of titles. The future looks bright for this athlete who, even in the face of adversity, maintains an indomitable spirit and an incredible ability to overcome challenges.
