Carlos Alcaraz won the Paris Masters by beating Ben Shelton in the final on Sunday, 7-6(5), 7-5. The Spaniard, currently world number three, claimed his first victory at this tournament and his ninth Masters 1000 title.
Despite coming under pressure on serve, Alcaraz saved all six break points he faced and sealed the win with a resilient display.
The triumph is his first Masters 1000 title since his victory in Cincinnati in 2025. The Spaniard is in excellent form: he has won three of the last four tournaments he has played and has now won nine matches in a row, having triumphed at the ATP 500 event in Vienna the previous week.
Points and ATP rankings
Alcaraz earned 1,000 points for winning the tournament, while Shelton, the runner-up, collected 650 points. Both keep their positions in the ATP rankings: Alcaraz remains third and Shelton secures the best ranking of his career, in fourth place.
The semi-finalists, Luca Van Assche and Casper Ruud, received 400 points each, while the four quarter-finalists received 200 points. Points were awarded according to progress in the tournament, with a total of 1,000 points going to the champion.
Prize money
Alcaraz received €974,370, slightly more than the €946,610 from the previous edition. Shelton, as runner-up, earned €532,120, a sum that also represents an increase on what the runner-up was awarded last year.
The semi-finalists received €290,960 each, while the quarter-finalists received €158,700.
Next challenge: ATP Finals in Turin
Both players now turn their attention to the ATP Finals, which begin next Sunday in Turin. Alcaraz, the second seed, is looking to win the title for the first time, having lost last year’s final to Jannik Sinner. Shelton, the third seed, will be seeking his first wins in the competition after a difficult debut the previous year.
