The Tottenham coach, Igor Tudor, is determined to see his team return to the European stage soon, despite their elimination from the Champions League. Following a motivating victory over Atlético de Madrid, the London side not only misses out on qualifying for this competition but will also be absent from European competitions next season. However, Tudor remains optimistic and believes that Tottenham can make a triumphant return shortly.

“For next year, no. But in the following year, we can try again. Why not?” Tudor stated, conveying a message of confidence. He emphasized that winning the trophy last season provided a morale boost for the players. “As you know, it is totally different to have that experience in European competition, especially with many players who have already won it. That gives them more confidence when playing in European competition matches.”

Tudor noted that the mentality of Europa League winners was felt on the pitch from the very first moment. “Today, playing as Europa League winners, we felt strong,” he said, reinforcing the morale of his group. The team’s performance raised more questions about the previous match, and Tudor believes that if the first encounter had been different, progressing to the next round against Atlético de Madrid would have been a real possibility.

“Even so, we need to remember that we only have 11 players and one substitute, Kevin Danso,” the coach explained. “The other three – Lucas Bergvall, Destiny Udogie, and Conor Gallagher – have been assessed by the doctors and can play, at most, between 20 to 25 minutes. We only have Danso as an option on the bench. Playing with 11 and just one substitute in such a demanding game makes this victory even more valuable.”

Tudor did not hide the complexity of the situation, highlighting the need for careful management of the players. “It’s a very particular moment, but you know how things work here at Tottenham, better than I do, with this type of injury. The value of this performance is even greater due to all these challenges.”

With a firm gaze on the future, Tudor seems determined to transform Tottenham into a European force once again. The promise of a return to European football beckons to the fans, who are eagerly awaiting a revival of their team in international competitions.
