Jannik Sinner has finally broken his silence and reassured fans: after the physical scare he experienced in the second round of Roland Garros, the Italian phenomenon claims he is recovered and ready to attack Wimbledon. The forced break, imposed by his discomfort and the tough defeat against Juan Manuel Cerundolo, ultimately served to recharge his batteries and prepare for the defense of his London title, but also to plan for the demanding North American season on hard courts that follows.

The 22-year-old tennis player, currently ranked number one in the world, admitted to taking a week for himself right after his surprising elimination in Paris, where he lost in five sets to Cerundolo. Sinner took the opportunity to return to his family and friends, temporarily stepping away from the pressures of the circuit. “I took a week off and spent time with my friends and family, something that was really important to me. And then, we immediately got back to training because an important period is coming up. I’m talking about Wimbledon, of course, but we also worked a lot for the hard court season in the United States that follows,” the Italian said in an interview with Vogue, displaying confidence and calmness.

This break comes after a true tour de force: Sinner won five consecutive Masters 1000 titles, an overwhelming streak that would exhaust any top athlete. He himself admits that he urgently needed to recharge. “I always try to see the positive aspects of situations, and the positive side of leaving Roland Garros early is that I gained a bit more time. We try to make the most of each day, so there have been many long training sessions. I am very happy with the form and mental state I am in right now. I feel good,” he emphasized, showing his focus on the upcoming challenges.

Sinner does not hide that the physical work has been intense in recent weeks, but he emphasizes above all the importance of psychological balance at this decisive moment of the season. “We have done a lot of work in the last few weeks, so physically I am fine. I have played a lot in the last few months, so a good block of training was necessary to make my body come back stronger. I have recovered well. But the most important thing for me is to be in a good mental condition. I hope to compete in the best possible way in London,” added the tennis player, aware of the pressure of defending his status as champion at Wimbledon.

Regarding his approach to the British tournament, Sinner maintains the ambitious and aggressive mindset that has characterized his career. “Wimbledon? I approach the situation the same way. I always say that we do not defend, we always try to attack, and I hope we can. I know it’s a long tournament. The way I start will be very important. I haven’t played any matches on grass, so the first match, or the first few matches, will be difficult. But if I can get through them, I know that confidence on grass will return, as will the good feelings. At this moment, we are just trying to find a good rhythm on the grass, and then we will see how the tournament goes,” explained Sinner, making it clear that he does not fear the challenge.

The recovery of the phenomenon of San Candido is excellent news for world tennis and for Wimbledon, which is preparing to welcome one of the biggest protagonists of the moment. With Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic still managing physical issues, Sinner emerges as one of the main favorites for victory, maintaining his ambition to conquer the All England Club once again.

The expectation is enormous: defending the title at Wimbledon is always one of the greatest tests of character and consistency for any athlete. Sinner knows that he will first have to overcome the lack of competitive rhythm on grass, but the confidence and the work done in recent weeks could be decisive. The Italian is aiming for a strong start to win back the British fans and continue to establish himself as the leading figure of the new generation of world tennis.

For the tennis world, Sinner’s return in top form promises to further energize the race for the major titles of the season. With the circuit approaching its hottest point, the coming weeks will be crucial to understand if the Italian can maintain his dominance and reinforce his status among the greatest in the recent history of the sport.
