“Fabregas draws inspiration from the tactics of Bodo/Glimt to shine at Como.”

As the Coppa Italia showdown approaches, Cesc Fabregas is determined to transform his team, Como, into an unbeatable force, drawing inspiration from the victorious tactics of Bodo/Glimt, which humiliated Inter Milan in the Champions League qualifying rounds. The first leg of the semi-final takes place at the Stadio Sinigaglia next Tuesday at 8:00 PM GMT (9:00 PM CET), and expectations are high.

Inter Milan arrives at this match as the clear favorite, comfortably leading the Serie A table with a 10-point advantage and boasting an impressive record of 13 wins in their last 14 league matches. However, this superiority does not deter Fabregas, Como’s coach, from seeking innovative ways to destabilize the Nerazzurri.

What makes this story even more interesting is that Bodo/Glimt, the Norwegian team that made an indelible mark on the UEFA by defeating Inter in both legs of the qualifying phase, is at the center of Fabregas’ strategy. According to the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the impressive approach of the Norwegians motivated the coach to delve into their methodologies, leading him to invite Bodo/Glimt’s coaching staff for lunch last week. During this meeting, Fabregas sought the knowledge of the nutritionists and the physical preparation team of the Nordic club, aiming to understand the secrets that keep their players in excellent shape.

Both teams, Como and Bodo/Glimt, already use an application that allows players to log everything they eat during their time off, which helps the coaching staff monitor the athletes’ nutrition. But Fabregas did not stop there; in recent days, he requested the installation of a large screen at Como’s training center, which will allow players to visualize their movements in real-time through a drone flying over the field.

It is important to note that this idea is not completely new. Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique had already implemented a similar approach, which proved effective, culminating in a resounding victory over Inter, with an impressive 5-0 in the final of the Champions League last season.

Fabregas is undoubtedly shaping a new era in Como, and the clash against Inter will be a decisive test to see how far his inspirations are bearing fruit. The football world will be watching this duel, where the Spanish coach will not only be able to challenge the odds but also demonstrate that innovation and learning can propel a team to new heights.
