Brooks Koepka is on a high, and it’s no surprise! The American golfer, who made his much-anticipated return to the PGA Tour after his stint with LIV Golf, achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot in the top ten at the Cognizant Classic. This result is a true landmark for the 35-year-old athlete, who, after a tumultuous start to the season, seems to have finally found his rhythm.

The tournament, held at PGA National, saw Koepka finish tied for ninth place, an impressive result, especially considering that his opening round was less than ideal, with a score of 74. Prior to this performance, his return to the PGA Tour had not been easy, with a disappointing T-56 at Torrey Pines followed by a missed cut at the Phoenix tournament. Therefore, the brilliant performance in Palm Beach was not only necessary but also a significant boost to his confidence.

After the event, Koepka shared his impressions with reporters, highlighting that he finally feels comfortable again on the PGA Tour. His confidence seems to have received a major boost, and with that, the expectation of achieving more victories in the future becomes tangible.

“Yeah, I played really solid the last three days,” Koepka reported, referring to his performance after the final round of 65. “I didn’t play as well yesterday, but I controlled my shots much better. The putter, obviously, improved. I didn’t look at the stats, but that little adjustment on Thursday night made a huge difference. I finally found some confidence. That’s something I was lacking. And that’s going to carry over into the future, for sure.”

The golfer revealed that the lack of confidence in his putter was pressuring him to be overly aggressive in his game, which also affected his iron play. “I felt like I needed to hit every approach to tap-in distance to make birdies before the Cognizant Classic. That affected my direction off the tee, because to hit those approach shots to three feet, I obviously needed to be playing from the fairway,” he explained.

What Koepka described as a “breakthrough” at the Cognizant Classic was his ability to make crucial putts, which in turn helped improve his long game. “Making some of those putts allows you to build a rhythm and create a certain momentum. It was a big thing. I believe that Thursday night was a real turning point.”

Now, with a new focus and confidence in his game, Koepka is preparing to face the next challenge on the PGA Tour calendar: the Players Championship, which starts next week. All eyes will be on him, waiting to see if he can maintain this new form and, perhaps, secure another victory. Expectations are high, and golf fans will surely be eager to see what the future holds for this talented athlete.
