Ben Shelton, the young American tennis star, staged an epic battle lasting nearly three hours against the resilient Adrian Mannarino, who demonstrated solid performance following his recent final in Montpellier. Although Shelton dropped a set, he managed to triumph in the decisive third set, showcasing his impressive skills and powerful serve.

In the first set, Shelton had only one break opportunity, which he converted to take the lead in the fourth game. The anticipated tie-break, given the balance between the two players, was dominated by the Atlanta athlete, who did not lose another point after being down 1-2. In the second set, however, the American faced difficulties, starting off down 0-3. Mannarino, at 37 years old, had the chance to close out the set at 5-3 but let the advantage slip, allowing Shelton to recover. The American player, despite facing four set points, managed to take the tie-break, but Mannarino, with determination, closed the set at 7-4. In the decisive third set, Shelton showed his strength, breaking Mannarino twice and securing victory by staying ahead at 5-2, leaving no room for surprises.

In contrast, fifth seed Tommy Paul was surprisingly eliminated by Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic, who defeated him in straight sets, 6-4 each, after Paul had won the first set 7-5. Other surprises in the tournament included Canadian Denis Shapovalov, Croatian Marin Cilic, who defeated Ethan Quinn in straight sets, and British player Jack Pinnington Jones, who overcame Eliot Spizzirri in a thrilling tie-break in the third set.

Meanwhile, in Rotterdam, Alexander Bublik managed to advance in the competition after an intense clash against German Jan-Lennard Struff. The Kazakh, ranked number 10 in the world, held firm and, similar to his debut match against Hubert Hurkacz, won in three sets, finishing with 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. He is now preparing to face Spanish player Jaume Munar. The competition in the Dutch city still features two local players, Botic van de Zandschulp and Tallon Griekspoor, who will face challenges against Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime, respectively.

At the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires, Argentina showcased its strength with Sebastian Baez, the fourth seed, who made a strong debut with a convincing victory over Peruvian Ignacio Buse, with a score of 6-4, 6-3. The day concluded with an exciting derby in which Camilo Ugo Carabelli shone by defeating Mariano Navone, with set scores of 6-2, 7-5.
