Coco Gauff is finally one step away from reaching the coveted final at Wimbledon, after several years of pursuing this achievement at the All England Club. The American, who has already won titles at the US Open in 2023 and at Roland Garros in 2025, has broken through to the semifinals on London soil after never having advanced past the fourth round, thus adding another remarkable chapter to her Grand Slam career.

In the penultimate stage of the tournament, Gauff will face Karolina Muchova in a clash that promises to reignite a rivalry marked by the American's dominance — she has won six of their seven previous encounters. However, the Czech player arrives buoyed to her first Wimbledon semi-final after winning the Bad Homburg tournament and claiming the title in Doha this season, in addition to having reached the final of Roland Garros in 2023. Muchova surprised Gauff in their most recent duel in Stuttgart, breaking her opponent's winning streak and proving she has the tools to counter the American's defensive game with her variety and creativity.

To reach this stage, Gauff had to overcome tough challenges, including victories in three sets against Belinda Bencic and Jessica Pegula, after eliminating Tamara Korpatsch and Solana Sierra in the early rounds. The 22-year-old now appears ready to take another step and reach her first grass court final. “It took a lot of resilience to get here, especially after such demanding matches,” Gauff said after defeating Pegula in the quarter-finals, celebrating exuberantly on Centre Court.

On the other side of the semi-final, Marta Kostyuk continues to star in one of the biggest stories of the season, reaching her second consecutive Grand Slam semi-final. The Ukrainian has already claimed two titles in 2026 — the Rouen Open and the Madrid Open — extending an impressive streak of 21 wins in her last 22 matches. Even after a break due to injury between Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Kostyuk returned with a bang, defeating Jasmine Paolini, the Wimbledon finalist in 2024, in her opening match on Centre Court.

Kostyuk's opponent will be Linda Noskova, the breakout star of this year's tournament. The 21-year-old Czech reached her first major semi-final after previously being a quarter-finalist at the Australian Open in 2024. Noskova, who won the Berlin tournament on grass before Wimbledon, defeated names like Madison Keys and Elise Mertens to reach this stage, showcasing aggressive tennis and a great deal of competitive maturity.

This match between Kostyuk and Noskova will be a first and offers a unique opportunity for both to reach their first Grand Slam final. In addition to a place in the final, a spot in the WTA top 10 is at stake: Noskova is currently ranked 11th, just behind Kostyuk, who is projected to move to 10th place. The winner of this semi-final will jump to 8th position, while the loser will finish the tournament outside the top 10.

The clash promises intensity and a contrast of styles: Kostyuk relies on physicality and defense, while Noskova will seek to assert herself with her baseline game and aggression. With two potential new finalists and a rivalry that could gain new momentum, Wimbledon 2026 is set for an explosive and unpredictable conclusion.
