Tottenham is preparing to strengthen its attack with the signing of Crysencio Summerville, the West Ham winger, following the Hammers' relegation to the Championship. The Dutch international has emerged as one of the top targets for the London club's attack at a time when the team's squad is undergoing significant transformation.
Ben Jacobs, a specialist journalist, revealed in an interview with Give Me Sport that Tottenham's interest in Summerville is gaining momentum, but he warns that fans should not expect as many moves in the transfer market as in the last 24 hours, when the club broke its transfer record on two occasions to secure Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. “Spurs fans are saying, ‘Why are we so quiet?’, because they were so busy! But it’s not every day that you break the club's transfer record, as happened in just 24 hours,” Jacobs explained.
The journalist also highlighted that Tottenham has already addressed the goalkeeper situation with the renewal of Kinský and the arrival of Dubravka, in addition to recent acquisitions in defense and midfield. Now, the priority is to secure a quality winger or forward for the starting eleven. “Savinho is in negotiations, but he is not the only target. Crysencio Summerville, Manchester United, and more recently, Roma, are also in the running,” Jacobs added.
This reinforcement strategy comes at a delicate time for Tottenham, which, despite winning the Europa League final in 2024/25, has finished in 17th place in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons. The new coach, Roberto De Zerbi, thus faces the difficult task of rebuilding the team, and the signings of Fernandes and Tonali are already seen as a sign of the club's ambition.
In addition to Summerville and Savinho, Cody Gakpo is another name mentioned as a possible reinforcement for the attack, although none of these deals appear to be progressing quickly. A deep renewal of the squad is vital for Tottenham to improve its performance next season and regain the competitiveness lost in recent years.
