“Arsenal is considering three options to replace Saliba in defense.”

Another possibility being considered is Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur. This option has generated some buzz, as it is said that the player is open to moving to north London, partly due to his relationship with Arsenal manager Gabriel Heinze. However, Tottenham has made it clear that they are not willing to sell to a direct rival, regardless of the player's desire. Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer journalist, has practically ruled out any possibility of a transfer, making this option more speculation than reality.

Lastly, Jacobo Ramón from Como emerges as a more romantic choice. At just 21 years old, the young defender is a product of the Real Madrid academy and impressed last season, making 32 appearances in Serie A. Ramón is strong in the air and comfortable on the ball, traits that Arteta tends to value. However, Real Madrid holds 50% of the player's rights and also has a buyback clause, while Chelsea is keeping an eye on the situation. Thus, this option seems more like a future solution than an immediate response to Arsenal's needs.

When it comes to the ideal choice, Arsenal's situation centers on urgency rather than quality. While they have enough talent in defense, the team lacks an experienced player who can step in immediately. Konsa, with his league experience, robust health, and positive track record with the national team, emerges as the most sensible option. The pressure on Arteta is mounting as the start of the season approaches, and finding a solution for the defense is a priority that cannot be overlooked.
