Djed Spence is officially a new defender for Inter Milan, having completed his transfer from Tottenham for a fee of €35 million, including bonuses. The player has signed a contract that ties him to the club until June 2031, thus becoming the second English international to join the Nerazzurri in this transfer window, following the arrival of John Stones, who transferred for free from Manchester City.
Spence arrived in Milan on Thursday night, where he underwent medical tests on Friday, both with the club and with CONI (Italian Olympic Committee). With no issues to report, the defender saw his contract signed, which is valued at around €2.5 million per season, plus performance-related bonuses. Tottenham will receive approximately €31.5 million immediately, with the potential to earn an additional €3.5 million in bonuses, along with a 10% share of any future sale of the player.
This transfer marks Spence's return to Serie A, where he had previously played on loan at Genoa for six months in 2024. The player, who celebrated his 26th birthday just last week, is seen as the ideal successor to Denzel Dumfries on the right flank of Inter, especially after the Dutchman's departure to Real Madrid.
