Aguero backs Ayyoub Bouaddi as perfect Rodri replacement at Manchester City

Sergio Aguero, the Manchester City icon, has thrown his weight behind Ayyoub Bouaddi as the ideal successor to Rodri in the heart of City’s midfield. With the transfer window ticking down to its final days, City's hunt to replace their pivotal midfielder intensifies, and Aguero’s endorsement adds significant weight to Bouaddi’s candidacy.

In an exclusive conversation with Stake, Aguero praised the young Moroccan prodigy’s maturity and technical prowess, despite only being 18 years old. “Ayyoub Bouaddi performed at a very high level at the World Cup,” Aguero stated. “Despite his age, he showed incredible maturity when playing out from the back. He has all the qualities to be a great replacement for Rodri, who was always vital for City.” This endorsement highlights Bouaddi’s readiness to step into the demanding role left by Rodri, City’s midfield lynchpin.

Aguero also drew parallels with other emerging talents, spotlighting Elliot Anderson’s dynamic box-to-box style and his recent breakthrough into England’s starting lineup during the World Cup. “He’s very dynamic, a box-to-box midfielder who can shoot, get forward and create chances. He can be very important for the team,” Aguero added, underscoring the caliber of midfielders City is targeting to maintain their competitive edge.

Reports suggest that Bouaddi is poised to finalize his move, with the young talent reportedly awaiting the green light to travel to England for his medical examination. The Moroccan’s eagerness to join City is clear, but the deal hinges on the final negotiations between Lille and Manchester City. With just ten days left before the transfer window closes, City are moving swiftly to secure their midfield future.

As City prepare to bid farewell to Rodri, Aguero’s confidence in Bouaddi serves as a compelling signal that the club is eyeing a seamless transition. The endorsement from a club legend known for his own impact at the Etihad Stadium could prove decisive in the high-stakes transfer battle. Bouaddi’s blend of youthful energy and tactical discipline positions him as a promising linchpin to carry Manchester City’s midfield ambitions forward.
