Antonio Nusa denies Arsenal exit talk, insists focus remains on Leipzig

Arsenal’s pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa appears to be stalling as the Norway international categorically denies any intention to leave the Bundesliga club this summer. Despite persistent transfer rumours linking the 21-year-old with the Gunners, Nusa has dismissed speculation, affirming his commitment to Leipzig following an impressive campaign that saw him net six goals and provide six assists.

Addressing the swirling media reports, Nusa told Sky Sport DE, “Media can write whatever they want… I never asked to leave Leipzig. I’m here back from vacation, focused on Leipzig.” His clear statement underlines a firm stance against the ongoing transfer chatter, indicating no current negotiations or offers from Arsenal have materialised.

Nusa’s profile has attracted attention due to his dynamic performances at Leipzig and his standout displays for Norway during the recent World Cup. Arsenal reportedly view him as a viable Plan B option to Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, whose move to the Emirates seems increasingly unlikely. However, with Nusa publicly shutting down exit rumours, the Gunners may need to recalibrate their attacking transfer strategy.

The attack recruitment challenge at Arsenal deepens as other targets slip through their fingers. Morgan Rogers, another young talent once linked with Arsenal, has opted for Chelsea, compounding the club’s dwindling options. Reports now suggest Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola could emerge as a potential alternative, especially if the Vinicius transfer falls through. Despite Liverpool’s current edge in the race for Barcola, Arsenal’s interest signals an urgency to bolster their frontline.

Barcola’s acquisition would not come cheap and could ignite a costly bidding war—something Arsenal might prefer to avoid. Nevertheless, the need for a high-calibre upgrade over the erratic Gabriel Martinelli is pressing for the Premier League champions. The club’s transfer window is rapidly narrowing, and securing a reliable winger remains a priority.

With Nusa reaffirming his commitment to Leipzig, Arsenal’s window to secure top-tier attacking reinforcements appears to be closing. The club must now intensify their search and investment to enhance squad depth and quality ahead of the new season.
