Arsenal keeps close watch on Monaco right-back Vanderson ahead of transfer

Arsenal have intensified their pursuit of Monaco’s dynamic right-back Vanderson, keeping the Brazilian defender firmly “under close watch” as a prime candidate for a future high-profile transfer. The 25-year-old has distinguished himself in Ligue 1 with his exceptional duel-winning ability, particularly excelling in aerial challenges and ball interceptions, qualities that align perfectly with Mikel Arteta’s tactical demands.

Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur recently confirmed Arsenal’s sustained interest on social media, stating: “Arsenal remain interested in Monaco right-back Vanderson. The club have continued to assess the Brazilian defender in recent weeks, keeping him under close watch as one of their long-standing targets.” This revelation underscores Arsenal’s strategic focus on reinforcing their right-back options, potentially signaling a major move in the near future.

The Gunners have been exploring multiple avenues to strengthen this position, previously linked with Spanish right-back Ivan Fresneda and now zeroing in on Vanderson. Despite having Jurrien Timber and Ben White as current options, both players have faced significant injury setbacks. White, 28, in particular, may be nearing the twilight of his peak performance years, adding urgency to Arsenal’s search for a reliable long-term solution.

Vanderson’s profile as a duel-winning machine makes him an especially attractive prospect. His prowess in aerial duels and interceptions not only boosts defensive solidity but also fits seamlessly into Arteta’s vision for a resilient backline capable of competing across four demanding competitions. Arsenal’s ongoing monitoring indicates that Vanderson is more than just a name on a list; he is a prioritized target who could shape the club’s defensive future.

As Arsenal continue their thorough evaluation, the football world will be watching closely to see if Vanderson’s consistent Ligue 1 performances translate into a Premier League transfer. The club’s determination to secure a durable right-back highlights their ambition to fortify the squad depth essential for sustained success under Arteta’s management.
